Ocean

Our latest podcast: ‘Ocean’, recorded by Surya Bowyer.

Surya writes: “John Butler refers to his piece ‘Ocean’ as part of his DNA. The song, rather than merely being a journey during the twelve-ish minutes it takes to play, is also a journey through Butler’s life. It is a song that evolves alongside him, changing form a little each time he plays it. I have attempted to keep the general aura of the piece, maintaining its leading melodies and lines, but have also added my own variations and voicings.”
